Forever Families of Baxter County
Sunday, 24 February 2008

We have started this blog to enable you all to see what we have been up to.  We are a small organization with big ideas, big dreams, high hopes and most importantly, a big God who can enable us to reach our greatest potential.

This group, Forever Families, was started in November of 2007.  It was put in place to help meet the needs of adoptive and foster families.

Since then we have helped a family start an addition on their home, given clothes and diapers to those who need them.   We have a resource room located in Mountain Home that is open to adoptive and foster families.  There are many goodies there: clothes, coats, toys, books, etc etc.  If you have a need, the door will be open so you can shop.   Prices are very good in our resource room-FREE.   We are also taking donations of items if you so feel led to donate.   Contact Tracy at 404 7941 and she will get the door unlocked for you to shop.

We have also provided meals to those who need them.  Its been exciting!  Tracy is the push behind this group and I commend her for all that she has done.

The Word of Life Church has a meal for the public on Wednesday nites.  They were able to provide some food for some deserving families this week.   There is nothing like a meal provided for a family who is busy dealing with the needs of the hurt children that they have adopted or are fostering.

Leon, Tracy and Mark spoke to the Homebuilders Organization this week.   We hope we were able to plant seeds to those who are in a position to help.  Tracy and her family also spoke at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.  Holy Cross has graciously given to our group, monetarily, giving homemade blankets  (the best kind Smile), one of their men came with us and was a big help with the addition.  We are very thankful to them.   If you would like us to come speak at your church about Forever Families, please contact Robin at Robin4350@yahoo.com  and we will set up a time.  It can be in front of your church or to a committee you may think has an interest in this kind of outreach.

Our next project is to contact churches and other organizations for speaking engagements and also, we are going to ask if we can put a box in their church.   On the box will be a list of suggested items that you can donate.   Some of these items are toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc etc and other items that are used often.  It is amazing the amount that families can go through.  They will be distributed to the heroes, the families that take care of the orphaned children of the world.   If you feel that your church would be able to keep a small box for donations, please contact  me at Robin4350@yahoo.com
